Honey and Clover

I tried reading the books, but I was super confused and kept mixing up the characters and all of their names. So I tried the anime (because it looked like a good series). I have to say, I love it! It is definitely one of my favorites (like Durarara)!!

It's about some poor college kids living on their own in dinky apartments. They're good friends with a professor, who looks pretty young (late 20s to thirties?) and hang out with him often, he's basically one of them. THe professor brings over his niece, or friends daughter, to live in the apartments with them because she's transferring to the school. Oh! It's an art school. Pretty neat! This girl, Hagumi (Hagu) is 19 but she looks and acts more like a middle schooler. There's also Ayu (I believe) who faces unrequited love towards one of the friends, but HE faces unrequited love towards someone else! And then two other friends start falling for Hagu. It's crazy, yeah, kind of.

I have to say, one of the things that really made me start to love this show is the art. It's so rosy and very pretty. I find myself describing things as looking like Honey and Clover because of the colors and styles of its appearance/art. Not to mention the opening song, which is very unique as well.

There are also lessons that can be learned through these characters, it's so amazing when you can relate to these people and know exactly what they're feeling, almost undescribable. Inspiration to get better.
